President Obama's Weekly Address (12/3/11)

President Obama talks jobs numbers and the payroll tax



In this week's address President Obama welcomed news that saw the creation of 140,000 private sector jobs in November and a drop in the unemployment rate to 8.6%. Citing now as a time to "step on the gas, not slam on the breaks," to create jobs and grow the economy, President Obama focused attention on Republicans who have voted "No" on a host of his jobs proposals. Included in his criticism of Republican lawmakers was the issue of the payroll tax cut and how its expiration could adversely impact middle class families.
